If it's interesting. Sometimes it's very useful to know what was in a director's mind at the time he was shooting the film.

I hate those things, a bunch of actors who aren't comedians trying to be funny. Especially if it's stuff from adultswim like Aquateen hunger force.

    Never, ever, ever.

It wrecks it for me to hear the actors real voices and accents if they are different from the characters.

I don't care what the actors were thinking as they were making the movie. I'm just interested in how well they portrayed their character/role.

Knowing too many behind the scenes details robs movies of their magic much like seeing the sound boom in the frame does. Suddenly it is all too fake.

LOVE IT, listening to the commentary on ZOHAN totally changed my mind about the movie, I was able to appreciate the creativity of each scene!

Rarely... only if I really like a movie (and after I've seen it normally). A lot of the time the commentary is fairly inane drivel... not much effort is put into it. I can't remember ever listening to commentary track for an entire movie.

I tend to not listen to them, especially on movies that are favorites of mine because sometimes it completely ruins my suspension of disbelief when watching just the movie.
A huge exception! The commentaries for the entire six TV seasons of "Reno 911!" show are pretty funny!

Completely off the subject, I guess -
Though for movies like "Alien," that movie is so powerful and good to me that listening to the commentary is rather fun and informative. Though so far, I wish I'd hear more about how excellent Veronica Cartwright's [ 'Lambert' ] contribution to the film is ! Ha! Perhaps it's because I relate to her character the most, but, also, her reactions once the horror begins ( PLOT SPOILER!! like the chest ripper ) are very natural for me as opposed to Ripley becoming "SuperHuman Making All Decisions Perfectly, Keeping Her Cool at all Times." :)
