Can we laid ceramic tiles over our existing laminate floor? If yes, what do we need to prepare before we put tiles on top. Thanks.

I wouldn`t reccomend it as the laminate floor is liable to expand/contract due to weather conditions which could cause problems later. Also , don`t forget the laminate floor is in effect `floating` and may move slightly under a persons weight which would crack the tiles.
The best thing to do is rip up your laminate, which is not a hard job, apply a levelling compound which ensures your floor is flat then tile.

    That would be a disaster.

Your tiles would not bond properly and would come loose and crack frequently.

Before laying tile, you have to rip out your old flooring and lay down sheets of special material made specifically for tiling floor.

I'm not a tile man, but I am a skilled craftsman that has helped lay tile before...and I have seen it done COUNTLESS times.

Tile is one of those things that has a high enough price that you do not want to do a half-assed job on as it will be wasting good money. If you're gonna do it, do it right.

    Hire a professional.
