More appropo is the burn temperatures of jet fuel versus the melting point of the steel used. The fires could STILL be burning, and would never reach the temperatures necessary to weaken, much less cause failure, of any beams and girders. And the surprizing high temperatures found in the pile weeks later can only be attributable to thermite or higher reactions.
