"...shooting everything you see" is also not only not smart, it's extremely stupid and dangerous for yourself as well as anyone else around. Wielding two guns simultaneously should be left to highly practiced individuals; the ordinary person should stick to a single gun if self-protection is the issue. Hunting and protection are two mutually exclusive modes.

Firearms all the way. Blades definitely. I would use a ruger (preferably MP9) with AK as my second choice. M1 and SKS is just too... "ehh"...I hate the look.
