Why should I have to get a tan just to be considered attractive in the summer?

    i don't ever go "tanning" or whatever. In the summer my skin naturally gets a little darker, but that's it. In the winter it's pretty pale. Who cares? I think you should just let your skin be what it naturally is. A lot of times fake "tans" don't look great, and going tanning is horrible for your skin anyways ;)

    You don't. People have different tastes. Please yourself, don't worry about the others. No matter what you look like, some people will think you're cute and some won't, so trying to be universally attractive is pointless.

    A natural browning or even freckling, whichever your skin does, means you've left the house at least once. A wintery pallor on the other hand, implies a boring uneventful life. Those ridiculous tans that make a person look at best Indian, and at worse like an oompa loompa, don't make you more attractive at all.
