Question

Help answer this question below.

Is getting an Itouch worth the price? Apparently most of the apps aren't for free and I don't want to jailbreak it.

I know the Ipod Touch is pretty handy with the internet and all.
But is it worth the money?
Because if you get many apps, it's what you pay which might be 300-something or 200-something or 100-something PLUS the amount you spend on the apps.

I dunno about iTouch - but I recently got a company supplied iPhone 3GS - and it's hardly worth it for free.

There are a couple cool things about it - but for the most part it's an expensive toy that doesn't do it's core functionality very well.

I'd think long and hard about the need you have and about what the competition is doing. If you can wait a year - do it. You won't regret it.

I just feel like I should point out that most apps aren't free because they're made by independent programmers. The money you spent on your iPod doesn't go to them. If you have a computer, you don't expect to get all the software you want for free, do you? I'm not sure why this would be any different.

With that in mind, I'd say it's worth the money to the same extent that your PC was. (Presumably several hundred PLUS whatever you spent on the software you've got installed.) At least with the iPod most apps are $1-2... which is almost nothing compared to ANY computer software.
