    The population of Edwardsville, Illinois was 21,491, it is the county seat of Madison County, IllinoisMadison County and is the third oldest city in the State of Illinois. The City was named in honor of Ninian Edwards, Governor of the Illinois Territory and, later, Governor of Illinois. It is a community that is rich in history and full of beautiful homes and neighborhoods.
