    The population of East Peoria, Illinois was 22,638 at the 2000 census. East Peoria is a suburb of Peoria and is part of the Greater Peoria MSA. It is home to many Caterpillar facilities. The main campus of the Peoria area community college, Illinois Central College, is there. A new Embassy Suites hotel complex is under construction. The Par-a-Dice Hotel and Casino is located here along the Illinois River, as is a popular luxury waterfront condominium complex. Several other hotel chains and restaurants can be found in East Peoria adjacent to Downtown Peoria.
