How do you change a rear stop light, also called a third brake light or a high-mount brake light, on a 2002 Mazda Protégé?

    If it is the same as a 2003 you just insert a small screwdriver under the edge of the housing and pry up and pull back. (It is a snap in unit) pull back tilt and disconnect plug and remove unit. Unsnap inner plastic cover over light bulb and replace bulb. snap cover back over bulb and replace electrical plug and snap back in place. (Should take 5 minuets at the most.)
