Question

Help answer this question below.

My 1993 honda accord lx is idling high and low while sitting still. Its also running hot & the muffler has a crack around the pipe. All the fluid levels are fine. What could possibly be wrong besides the muffler needing to be fixed?

throttle position sensor may be bad.Check your water pump if bad you may want to change your timing belt as well.

"when looking from front at engine bay, on the right side of the intake manifold there is a valve looking thing with two screws. remove the 2 screws and take the top plate off. There is another screw with spring tention on it. With engine off, back the screw off and then retighten. Put plate back on and start car."

Check for a vacuum leak. Look at the small rubber hoses going to ur intake manifold for cracking and dryrot In fact check out all the vacuum lines in the engine compartment and replace any lose fitting or cracked lines.
