Is it true it uses more energy to turn your computer on and off then to just leave it on?

    Hibernation takes zero battery power and boots up faster than turning it off. There's no reason to shut down a computer.

    Sleep uses minimal battery power.
    Screen savers are useless with LCD screens and take up much more power than sleeping. When possible, hibernate or sleep your computer. That'll end up saving power while having your computer ready to respond quickly.
