In addition to http://www.download.com, in jenniferprofitt's useful answer, check out http://www.snapfiles.com/Freeware/network/fwtimesync.html I've tried Time Trek, ClocX, and Atmosphere Lite. Time Trek is digital and works well. ClocX has neat analog graphics and alarm options. Atmosphere Lite is a sound machine, great for drowning out life's little unprovoked assaults on your eardrums. You know, the loud-TV-in-the-next-room type noises. With AL, you build natural sound scenarios from sound templates. Start with any one of twelve main themes, like Tropical, Night, Coast, Jungle, or Fireside. Add background sounds, like Surf and Thunder. Look for "Alarm" at the top. Enable. Below the photo, fill in the time that you'd like the constantly jangling telephone noise to reach out and thump you into wakefulness. You'll probably hear it sooner or later, since it won't politely "hang up" if you don't "answer". Irritating and effective. http://www.snapfiles.com/get/atmoslite.html Can't vouch for the other programs, but the staff's ratings are usually accurate and the reviews are helpful. Snapfiles screens all programs and downloads for viruses and while I can honestly tell you that my experience (three+ years) with Snapfiles has all been positive, someone else might say the opposite. Freeware in general has the reputation for bringing along one or two unpleasant little surprises when it lands in your system. This isn't the place for cyber-security 101 class, but it's always an appropriate consideration before downloading anything. That being said, Snapfiles is probably one of the safer places on the web to find good freeware and shareware. To HG: You are so right, unfortunately, and I sincerely appreciate your taking time to give a head's up. I had the dastardly "about:blank" thing for months, and there were a few times when I could easily have pul...well, you can imagine the frustration. I'm glad you made this point, especially here, because we all need reminders about spyware and other crap in places other than the usual spots where we expect (and therefore tune-out or ignore) to see the warnings. Speaking just for myself, anyone who reminds me to cover my backside on the web is doing me a huge favor, so thanks, Hungry Guy! Good job!
