  • First, you don't really describe what you mean by 'not a lot of money', so some of these might not be appropriate for you, but consider these options. 1) Have you spoken with your Dr. about your situation? When I was unemployed my Dr. would help me cut the cost by giving me samples from the medications supplied freely by the drug reps that served his office. This meant that I really only had to pay for the office visit, whcih made all the difference for me. Also, some Dr.s will allow you to make payments for services, as did mine, allowing me to budget the cost each month. 2) County Health Services. Here in the U.S. there is free medical service available at county run health clinics. If you qualify, they may also help you apply for...... 3) Medicaid...a government run health program for financially struggling people. 4) Church...Many churches, (including the one I attended) have funds set aside to help members in need. Do you go to a church? You might inquire there too. 4) Drug companies....If you can afford the Dr. but not the drugs, you might contact the maker of the drug you need to ask if they have a program supplying that medication for people who can't afford it. Many Pharmaceutical companies run such programs, and they're sometimes even advertised on TV! 5) Health studies, run by NIH (The National Institutes of Health) or other organizations sometimes look for volunteers suffering specific ailments, usually giving them free medical care and sometimes even paying them! I hope that some of these suggestions work for you. Good luck in your search!
