Place newspaper under the door, and ensure you can access both sides of the door or open it in such a way that you can paint both sides without moving the door. Sand the door on both sides with sandpaper. Roughen the surface enough so that the glaze will adhere to the surface. Wipe the dust off with a lint-free cloth or paper towel. Dampen the door by wiping it with a wet cloth so the glaze will go on smoothly. Put on rubber gloves and a respirator. Work in a well-ventilated area, and apply the glaze with a brush in either vertical or horizontal strokes. Allow the glaze to start to dry and, with a dry brush, remove excess glaze. Allow the door to dry overnight, and apply a layer of polyurethane gloss to the door to seal it.Preparation
