    Professionally Researched. (What's this?)

A stack of 1,000,000 pennies would be 5,085 feet tall, or 0.96 mile high. These figures are based on the fact that a penny is 1.55 mm, or .061 inch, thick; 1.55 mm multiplied by 1,000,000 equals 1,550,000 mm, or 61,023.622 inches (5,085 feet).
