    Prepare Claim Deed

    Notify your attorney that you want to file a quit claim deed. A quit claim deed allows you to transfer the property title to your spouse. You must sign the deed, though your spouse does not have to. Have your attorney or another notary notarize the deed.

    File the Deed

    File your quit claim deed with your county's clerk office. This makes the deed public record and prevents someone from being able to challenge the deed in court.
