    Professionally Researched. (What's this?)

Argos, a Greek god, always had an open eye. This is because he had eyes all over his body. According to Greek mythology, Zeus wanted to get rid of Argos and ordered Hermes to make all of Argos' eyes sleep.

Argos the guard for Hera is a 100 eyed man who only sleeps with 50 eyes at one time. However in Egypt the eye represents the current king of the gods (equivalent to Zeus) is Horus.
