  • The best way is to have a fitness plan that includes aerobic activity and weight training. The digestion system breaks down all sugars and starches into glucose. The body's metabolic and cellular processes use that glucose as energy. The energy quotient of food is measures as "calories". When a person consumes more calories (and thus the body creates more glucose) than the body can "burn" it is stored as fat. When the body burns more calories than a person consumes, the extra energy is taken from the fat stores (and when there are no fat stores, from the muscle tissue). Aerobic activity helps to increase the amount of calories the body will burn, thus limiting the amount of "unhealthy" weight. Aerobic activity can be cycling, running, rowing, swimming, aerobic classes, and like activities. Weight training helps to build muscle tissue and increase bone density. Both of these will increase the amount of "healthy" weight. Additionally, the greater the amount of muscle tissue, the higher the resting metabolic rate will be. In other words, as you build muscle, more fat is burned while you are at rest.
  • Don't excercise. Sit on your sofa, and watch tv 24/7. And skip breakfast. And when you do eat, eat your dinner right before you go to sleep.
  • I have the same problem! Except, I'm not in muscle weight training and stuff like that o.o To be healthy AND gain weight, try eating more meals every four hours or so. They can be small meals or even celery with peanut butter. Try increasing your calorie intake, too. If you really want to go all the way, lift weights to build muscle. Muscle weighs more than fat.
  • Well, the only way to gain weight IS by eating. Where else do you think your body gets the raw materials to build its mass from? Osmosis? But seriously, your question is kinda vague. What kind of weight are you looking to put on? I would hope it's lean muscle mass and not just "weight". Lean muscle mass is healthy and maintainable, whereas just getting heavier is not really all that maintainable, especially if you are a "hard gainer", meaning you don't put weight on very easily, and it's certainly not healthy. The best way to gain muscle mass is to work out. You want minimal (but not absent) cardio and a good weight resistance program. This will go hand in hand with good, nutrient dense food throughout the day. You want to make sure that you get around 40% of your daily food intake in quality carbohydrates (like whole grains, green vegetables, brown rice, fruit, etc), 40% in protein (yogurt, low-fat milk and cheese, whey and soy drinks, fish and lean meats) and 20% in fat (mono- and polyunsaturated mostly). This is the best ratio for your body to properly function and reap the most from what food you give it. As I just mentioned, whey (dairy based) and soy protein drinks and bars are a great way to get more protein throughout the day. You can even get them in ready-to-drink form, like drink boxes. There are some excellent protein powders out there that have significant added calories in them, to help people out that are looking to put on weight. Check your local GNC or Vitamin World or health store for different varieties and brands. Honestly though, you'll get the best and most rewarding gains when you combine the extra calories and protein to a good workout. Muscle weighs a lot more than flab!
  • il have my fat cut out and you can have all mine for free.
  • Eat a deep dish pizza and a chocolate shake at midnight every night.
  • You might try eating. I've never been able to gain at all except while I was pregnant, and then I managed to gain 50 lbs - and lose it all immediately after the baby was born.
  • eat but dont eat just anything you probably have a high metabolism so eating things like meat steak chicken ect. can help also eat larger portions but dont eat too much we wouldnt want you getting sick
  • Worry less about quantity and more about calories. Trust me, they aren't that hard to find. ;-)
  • Eat fatty foods/more calories than you output. If you are trying to get fat- eat more calories than you burn off. Try around 3000 calories (if you are eating a "normal" diet right now). Eat fatty foods, and lots of red meat. High protein. If you are trying to gain muscle- do lots of reps of muscle building excercises and eat lots of protein. It builds up your muscle and gains you more weight, because muscle weighs more than fat, and is bigger than fat.
  • Eat fast food and processed food exclusively and do not exercise. Essentially, plant your butt in front of the TV with a sack of McDonalds... Keep in mind, this will result in an unhealthy weight gain, and likely negative health complications. If you're after gaining HEALTHY body mass (like, you're just plain two skinny) you probably need to eat more healthy foods - proteins, greens, starches - and work out a lot... the trick is to gain mass, not fat.
  • Darn. If they can have organ donation, why not fat donation...I have plenty to spare....I could help hundreds of people in need.
  • drink lots of beer and eat lots of mcdonalds..lol
  • You want to gain weight quickly or with class?
  • Move in with us. I cook for 4 but there's only 2 of us.
  • My boyfriend was 8 stone and wanted to gain weight so i got him to drink a carton of double cream a day because it was small quantity (as he couldnt stomach big meals)but very high calorie (1300 cals in a 300ml pot of double cream ) peanuts are excellent they are super high calorie with good fats in them and protein, a small handfull was nearly 400 cals, he eats trifles which again arent too filling and pies and pasties which are roughly 500 calls a pie depending on what one you have. Avocados are very fattening too but it has good fats. my boyfriend is doing well and is now 8st 12lbs and gaining every week, hope this info helps.
  • Protein Protein Protein. My son had trouble gaining weight and keeping it on once he did gain it. His doctor recommended "Weight Gainer" from GNC. Mix it with whole milk-throw in some ice cream and fruit. A lot of fat, sugars and empty calories aren't healthy for anyone.
  • eat. Tofu probably would not be the best choice. Beef cattle are fed hormones to make them gain weight faster. These hormones are still in the beef when you buy it. They might work on you too. why do you particularly want to gain weight? Time will probably do it to you - and to excess
  • Live tension free life!
  • Eat fattening foods
  • Eat foods which are higher in calories and carbs. Also, eat several small meals a day (as many as 6) instead of three large ones.
  • eat alot at night. dont do anything to keep fit. drink alot of beer. stop smoking if you do. that should help : D
  • If you are looking to gain weight because you are underweight, eat more, but maintain a healthy diet. You don't have to eat a bunch of junk, that will just add fat and make you unhealthy. Eat a good balanced diet, maybe change from skim milk to whole, eat a few more carbs etc.
  • Come to my house!!
  • Eat more calories than you burn off exercising...particularly protein and carbs while adding a weight training program. Your body will use the spare calories to build muscle.
  • Eat more.
  • eat fast food every day
  • Consume more calories than you use each day.
  • If you eat a lot of carbohydrates right before going to sleep, you should start putting on the pounds. If you do any kind of exercise, as long as you eat well before hand your body will burn what you ate instead of fat, so long walks or anything that taxes the body shouldn't be done on an empty stomach.
  • I think it is also important if you want to gain weight to do it in a controlled manner, knowing what you are taking in and what causes what results in your body. Just randomly cramming down a lot of food could cause you to gain weight to fast, which can cause stretch marks. Also if you gain more than you want, if you planned it out, you may be able to adjust things a little easier to drop what you don't want.
  • Protein and exercise. Gain muscle.
  • The easiest way to gain weight would be to do nothing at all but eat cream cakes and chocolate all day. However, the BEST way to gain weight would be to gain muscle instead of fat and to use healthy foods to do it with. Nuts are a good source of protein and essential fatty acids as well as many vitamins often aiding digestion. Also, your calorie intake will need to exceed your energy output, a tasty and healthy way to add more calories to your diet would be to eat more bananas and dates. Any other fruit is good but they are the ones packed full of calories. (Although apparently a banana is a seed). You will probably also need to take up a new exercise program regarding muscle build. Such as weight lifting...
