It is estimated in 50 years the fossil fuels will run out.
Not in your lifetime. But when they do then they will be replaced. 500 years ago, the Europeans deforested Europe (wood was their main fuel) so they had to switch to coal. That started the industrial revolution when the steam engine was developed to get the water out of the mines. When fossil fuels run out, the technology that the event causes will trigger the second industrial revolution.
Only God knows the answer to this one.
