    Playpens are now commonly referred to as play yards. They have changed quite a bit over the years. They come in a couple of sizes now, with the most common size averaging 28 inches x 40 inches. They are approximately 33 inches high. The larger play yards commonly provide about 10 square feet of play space for the child and are about 35 inches high.
