    One time in the woods..i saw this huge green plastic bag spread out in the mulch
    and i said I'm going to good a good deed and pull it out and I did.

    They decompose waster on land rather than on water... i think.

    If it is a modern one such as the type supermarkets in the UK now use, they decompose in between 1 year and 5 years depending on the environment.
    This type of bag is made to be biodegradable.
