Tempe is generally flat, except for Hayden Butte (locally known as A-Mountain and named after Carl Hayden), located next to Sun Devil Stadium, Twin Buttes and Bell Butte on the western edge of Tempe, and Papago Park northwest of Tempe, inside Phoenix.
