Raise the hood and locate the oil fill/dip-stick cap. The cap displays the image of an oil can on top and is the highest point on the engine.
Remove the cap by hand. Turn it counterclockwise to unscrew it from the oil fill tube. Pull the cap--with attached dipstick--out of the tube and wipe the stick clean with a new paper towel. Reinsert the dipstick into the oil tube and remove it again to check the existing oil level.
If oil is below "full" mark, add a one-fourth quart of high-quality 30W detergent oil and recheck the level. Once the oil level touches the "full" mark, install the oil fill/dipstick cap and screw it on tight.
