Wet a scouring pad with hot water. Wring out the majority of the water. Place a small amount of toothpaste on the pad, and scrub the black stains. Add more toothpaste if the stains aren't coming off completely. When the stains are gone, rinse well with warm water. Rinse the scouring pad as well.
Apply a copper cleaner to the scouring pad, and clean the inside of the pan. Do not apply too much pressure or you may cause damage to the pan. Be sure to use the copper cleaner on the entire pan, not just the previously stained areas. Rinse well, and wash regularly using dish washing detergent and hot water. Dry with a towel before storing your pan.
