How many UNESCO World Heritage sites are there in Europe?

    The number is always growing from year to year but as of 2010 there are 405 World Heritage sites in Europe. Note, however, that some of the sites that are included in that number are also counted in the Asian Heritage number, as some of the sites cross borders.
