Can you switch a 4WD vehicle into 4WD while it is moving without causing something to go wrong with it?

    if your speed is low enough and you put the transmission in neutral you can then move the selecter on the transfercase without hurting anything.

    I know of at least two; Jeep and Chevy that you can shift into 4-Hi while driving. It's not recommended if you're doing more than 35MPH.

    I think it depends on the vehicle. There are at least some that can only be switched into 4WD at certain times.
