New is to have something that has not been used by another. So yes it will be a new car. But there are discounts that should accompany the sell of vehicle that is of the prior year for future selling reasons. For example. You car is rated on mileage to receive a value of its worth per year. When you buy a car from the prior yr, your mileage may be lower than another vehicle with the same year. No matter what, Its still gonna be an older model, which will be worth less when the time comes for its owner to sell it or trade it in.

Yes it has not been titled. The value is a different answer. A car has depreciating value. The value is based on age and milage. You can have a car that was driven by a little old lady on Sundays and was kept in a garage. The car is 10 years old with only 5,000 miles. The car's value is based on the fact it is 10 years old. A 2004 car's value is based on the fact it is 1 year old. If it has 12 miles on it only means your are not penalized for having milage. Look up the car you are interested on Kelly Blue Book. Find the value and compare if the discount the dealer will give you is worth it. Most credit unions will only loan you the value of the car as opposed to the what the manufacturers financial division will offer. You can get a great deal if you do your homework. Present the dealership a check from your credit union. You will have that car. When the new models come out a dealership has to "buy" from the manufacturer those previous years models in their inventory. It is costing the dealership money every month that car is not sold.

The key here is the titile. if the new car has never been titiled, than it qualifies as new. if the vehicle was a demo, still has low mileage, never been titled........will be a good buy, if the price is right. hope its a japanese-made auto. they are the best. period.

yep they can still sell it as a new car because it would be registered in the year of purchase, they don't have to give you a discount. But the chances are they will as it will be more difficult to sell an old models alongside the new ones. But if you like the older model theres nothing wrong with buying one, but just make sure you get a good discount.
