    Professionally Researched. (What's this?)

The American Academy of Pediatrics commissioned a study of emergency department visits by children as a result of injuries sustained during physical education classes. The study concluded that from 1997 through 2007, approximately 405,305 visited the ED during the 10-year study period. That is roughly 40,530 visits per year.
