    Professionally Researched. (What's this?)

Turnitin detects any unoriginal text in a written assignment. It is used by schools and universities to check for plagiarized material in its database of content. It then generates an originality report that shows any matching text.

Turn-it in is designed to scan a database of articles, books, periodicals and other papers to detect plagiarism. The down side to Turn-it in is that any commonly used, unoriginal phrase can be compared in the database and counted towards its plagiarism percentage evaluation of the submitted work.

The Turnitin originality report shows the paper’s text highlighted with any text that matches sources found in the Turnitin databases containing vast amounts of web content, previously submitted papers, and subscription-based journals and publications.
