    If you want a larger butt, then deadlifts are the best exercise.

    But if you are worried about getting a big butt from exercise, don’t be too worried. It will not give you a fat butt, but a more muscular butt. And more likely a shapelier, more attractive butt.

    But not “any” exercise. Biceps curls won’t have any effect. Excessive cardio can cause muscle to shrink. This is usually a bad thing.

    You can't choose where you gain weight. If you start eating more and lifting weights, there's no guarantee your butt will reap the benefits.
    The shape of your butt is primarily based on genetics. Take a look at your parents or other relatives and you'll probably notice that you have inherited some of their genes.
    Doing lower body exercises (along with upper body training and cardio, of course) and eating more calories than you burn can help you build muscle but your genetics will decide how much your butt can really change.
    There isn't a magic exercise that will make your butt change.

    Of course, just do more exercises that involve those muscles such as squats, walking up stairs, etc. Genetics might limit the size you get to and affect the shape, but there's no reason to settle with a flat butt before you've tried.

    You can take a form of martial arts that involves a lot of kicking. This will tone and increase your glutes.

    You can gain or lose fat. You can increase the muscle by exercising. When you work a specific muscle you are stressing the muscle. This stress will signal the body to enlarge the muscle. The muscle will rebuild itself if you have the proper ingredients available in your blood. Make sure you are supplying the proper vitamins and nutrients to allow the muscle fiber to increase. No not steroids! That will work but there are detrimental medical side effects that aren't healthy. A muscle works by contracting. You have to squeeze the desired muscle to make it work. Another muscle group will return the motion the other direction. Through stressing specific muscles you can increase their efficiency and their size. If you do heavy weight and low reps you will increase size. If you do low weight and high reps you will enhance efficiency.
