High winds can blow clothes off the line. Avoid hanging your clothes on the line if temperatures are expected to fall into the frost zone.
String a clothesline between two poles that offer ample room to hang all clothing. Be sure the line is firmly attached and the posts that you use are sturdy enough to support the weight of wet, heavy clothing. When picking a spot for your clothesline, use an open location sheltered from direct sunlight. It is best to keep clothing out of direct sunlight in order to avoid possible discoloration.
Grab an item of clothing and shake it one or twice to avoid wrinkles, as well as to remove excess water. Pick up a clothespin and pin each side of the garment to the clothesline. After the article of clothing is pinned, give the bottom a small tug to further prevent wrinkles.
