Well I write for older audiences... my writing level would most likely be to advanced for most of my teen friends to comprehend.

Then choose some folks of the age of your intended audience and get their opinions and comments. You want a "test" audience that can help you make it the best it can be before marketing it to a publisher.
You know how in books you often see a section of "acknowledgements" where the auther thanks lots of people for one thing or another? Well, often alot of those people are the ones who helped the auther refine the book, offering suggestions to make it better.
