Wipe a dryer sheet over the top of your hair. Wipe the dryer sheet underneath long hair. Continue wiping the sheet lightly over the hair until static electricity dissipates.
Brush your hair with wooden bristle brushes instead of plastic bristle brushes. Plastic attracts static as it glides over the hair shaft. Wooden bristles detract static cling in hair.
Moisten your hands with a moisturizing lotion or cream. Pat your hair immediately after rubbing the lotion into your hands. If static cling remains, run the lotion through your hair with your hands. Avoid using too much lotion because it can cause hair to become limp.
