Help answer this question below.

I have set up a 55 gal tank with a new heater and filter. Filter is for 100 gal. After cycling tank for 2 days, water is getting cloudy. PH is 7.5, temp is 75. Is something wrong? Why is it cloudy?

    Hello;

    See my other answers for cloudy water. This is normal for a new tank and is the result of beneficial bacteria multiplying. Keep temp at 75 or a little below that and change a little water 10% a day for the next 6-weeks.

    After this process of creating a biological filter you only need to clean the gravel bed, filter and change 30% of your water a month.

    You could just need to let the thing sit for a couple weeks until you get the water seasoned. The filter has to develop benificial bacteria in it, or if you have a substrate filter the bacteria has to develop in the gravel. Keep the filter running and wait.
