Where can I find a good, dependable car less than 5 years old for a rock bottom price?

    You need to define what you mean by 'rock bottom' price.

    If you mean $500...well, I'd be nice if Jerry Buss would sell me the Lakers for
    $1000, but that's not happening either.

    If you mean $5000, then you've got a decent shot.

    If you mean $8000, you're odds improve considerably.

    If you mean $10k, then good dependable cars abound (many less than 5 years old).

    BTW, why are you so fixated on that 5-years number? I drive a 15 year old pickup truck
    and a 16 year old motorcycle. Both are excellent vehicles.
