    Professionally Researched. (What's this?)

The Ishtar Gate was the eighth of eight gates that formed the processional route to the inner city of Babylon. Built during the reign of King Nebuchadnezzar II in about 575 BC, it took several years to complete. A reconstruction of the gate can now be found at the MuseumInsel in Berlin, where thousands of pieces of brick and colored fragments were put together from the excavation.
