    Yes, it certainly sends out a great uplifting message, and that message is;
    If you don't choose to marry me, because of my utterly grotesque personality, and don't buy me shiny expensive objects, then when we split up, I'll behave like a complete and utter slut right in front of you, in a sad attempt to make you feel like you somehow lost out by not marrying me.

    Yes, as per usual, Beyonce sends out a message to young girls that she would not send out to her own daughter, if she had one.

    I'm currently writing a song to counter this one, the message in my song will also be to young women, and here it is;
    If you want a man to buy you shiny expensive objects and marry you, make yourself a good catch, being a slut gets you nowhere, and if you want respect, earn it.
    Don't assume men want to be with you, you're not all that, no matter how many Loreal adverts tell you that you are, so put in some work to be a decent person who men want to be with, no man wants to introduce a slut to his mother as his future wife, so pull your knickers up ladies, and start showing some God-damned self respect, because if you can't respect yourself, no-one else will.

    I just can't make it rhyme.

    It is a great song. I can't believe she put that music video together in a matter of hours.

    oh God don't get me started...it's fuckin' annoying! *rolls eyes* plus I'm not a fan of pressuring a man into commitment. If you're special enough to him, he will commit.

    It's a mixed bag. On one hand, I (and many other women, I'm sure) can relate to the frustration of waiting for a commitment from a man. But the woman in the song behaves in ways that run counter to her goal. For instance, if she truly wants a commitment, why did she hook up with another guy almost immediately after breaking up with the one who "shoulda put a ring on it"?

    With that said, this song is very catchy, and I have to give Beyonce partial credit for addressing a situation that troubles many women.

    i love this song because it expands womens rights to be more like men in every aspect of life. without commitment don't complain if other people ask her out.

    I think it has a great beat, and the lyrics aren't profound or anything, but they present a situation a lot of women I know can relate to. I enjoy it.
