My son has GBA SP, and the batteries for 2-3 years with some serious wear. The screen is so dim there is almost no resolution. Do we need to buy new battery or do something else?

  My son and I are trying to trade pokemon using our gameboy advance sp and both of us have the same kind of wireless adaptors...im trading from Ruby and my son from Sapphire. All we get is a "Please wait." and underneath a "... ... B Button: Cancel". Help!
