Help answer this question below.
If the green stool occurs along with vomiting and/or diahrrea, the dog may be showing symptons of Irritable Bowel Syndrome (yeah, pets get that too I guess). If not, then there are plenty of reasons why.
A dog's stool may be affected by things they are eating. Certain additives in what dogs consume mix with the bile in their stomachs and in turn create anywhere from a green-ish to a definately green stool.
If you're worried about your dog's health, monitor what your dog is eating. Try changing the dog's diet and see if that helps. If the diet change isn't making a difference, the dog may be eating plants or other things that may be affecting its stool. If it get's bad, there may even be a possibility of the dog eating poisons from any plants the dog may be ingesting.
If you're just curious and your dog seems healthy, then I hope I've somewhat answered your question. If you're a bit worried, then contact your vet and have some tests taken on the fella.
Hope this helps ;)

My stools smell like some sort of burned metal or iron. I don't see blood on stools. It happens at least once a week no matter what I eat.
