    According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 121.4 km sq (46.9 square miles). 120.8 km sq (46.6 mi sq) of it is land and 0.6 km sq (0.2 mi sq) of it (0.47%) is water. The Ottauquechee River has its headwaters in the town.
