Does all breaded/battered fried meat taste like chicken?

Hi azlotto,
No, if you cook at the right temperature, they all have their own taste. If your oil's temp is to low, then everything will just taste greasy.

Just taste like fry oil to me ,the texture is different,like fried clam strips to fried onion strips,fried fish sticks to chicken fries. All frozen with no taste left, then deep fried crispy in a vat of hot oil,cover it with ketchup and clog your heart.

- This is true...Heart disease runs in my family, so I try to eat, at least half way healthy (I love fried chicken)...Rib spreader and my name does not sound good in the same sentence...Thanks for your reply.

I only eat battered/fried chicken, so yeah, for me it does.

Can't imagine that fried steak would be very tender. :P

I think all these, when battered & fried, have tastes distinct from chicken:
steak strips
hot dogs
shrimp (if you consider it meat)
