You need to put whatever is recommended by the manufacturer. If it says you can run 87 octane then there is not reason to pump in 91 unless you modify the engine or timing. I don’t have any experience with these vehicles but I do know they are a performance car and it would not surprise me if 91 octane is recommended. If it is and you run a lower octane rated fuel you risk causing pre-ignition which will trip your knock sensors and cause the computer to retard your timing. This will result in lower performance. If your engine is turbo or supercharged you most assuredly need a higher octane fuel to combat pre-ignition.

I drive a 1990 Mazda Miata and it is a cable cluch. I was driving to my sister's house ten miles away and my cluch started to do something. Everytime I needed to engage it I'd have to push the pedal further and further down. Any ideas?
