During WWII, the Japanese Imperial Navy used a pure oxygen and gasoline-powered torpedo colloquially referred to as the "Long Lance." The Lance's engine had fantastically high power output for its size, meaning that pure oxygen can and will make more power and revs. Bear in mind, however, that this weapon's powerplant was specifically built to withstand the rigors of pure oxygen.
Introducing pure oxygen has a very similar effect to supercharging or nitrous oxide injection, minus one very crucial factor. Air is 78% nitrogen by volume and nitrous (N2O) is 66% nitrogen; that nitrogen acts as a heat sink in the combustion chamber and helps to carry away localized heat before it can melt anything.
Oxygen injection can indeed get you a few more rpm and some extra horsepower, and will continue to do so for about five seconds before it annihilates your engine. If you want to inject something for a little more oomph, then go for a conservative amount of time-tested nitrous oxide.
