You should never eat the first snow...its dirty and sometimes polluted.
The second snow however is great for "Snow Ice Cream"

Take your snow and put it in a bowl...add milk, sugar and a little vanilla extract. You can measure out the ingreedients any way you want or add other flavors, but that's the general idea!

When you live in the South, you can't wait on the second snow...there may not be one! We haven't been sick yet from eating the first snow!

As how to make it; use evaporated milk, sugar and vanilla flavoring. Mix the milk and sugar until it tastes sweet, then add the flavoring. Make this ice cream base first before you add the snow or it will be to watered down tasting. Using evaporated milk that has already been cooled is even better!

Good luck, just wish we had snow more often!

I've heard of just mixing sweetened condensed milk with clean snow.

Be careful of any pollutants / contaminants. Yellow and brown snow are already well known;) "Watermelon snow" is a microbe which gives snow a pink tint and a sweet flavor, but may upset some people's GI track.

I remember using snow from our trampoline in lieu of ice to freeze our ice cream.

3 eggs, 3 cup of milk and two cups of sugar and one tablespoon of vanilla. Cook this all together over low heat until sugar is dissolved. Then slowly pour over a large bowl of snow while stirring. You can get three large bowls of snow into one while mixing.
