It's better to wash ANYTHING with hot water.

Hot water helps break up food particles to wash them away. Also, hot water helps "kill" bacteria and eliminate germs.

Short answer, but I hope it helps.

Hot water is great for getting something really clean and bacteria free however when camping we love to scrub our pans with some sand along th erivers and creeks. It's great for getting everything off your pans. Then later when we heat up our food the pan will get it's 'hot' treatment. I wouldn't worry too much.

Hot water makes it way esier to clean. I normally boil mines and then i can just wipe them off with a rag. Non-sticks i don't let the water get to the point of boiling....
