  • Generally speaking, yes. The oven has shielding under the case to keep the radiation inside. It doesn't stop 100% of it, but the waves that escape are weak and dispersed. I don't recommend putting an elephant on there, something too heavy might distort the case then you'll damage the integrity of the shielding, but other than that there is no real danger.
  • I think it depends how hot your microwave gets. Most of them, yeah, you're fine. Unless your microwave gets really warm, I don't see why there should be a problem.
  • I have things sitting on mine and have for years so I say it is safe.
  • my wife keeps things on the microwave all the time when its in use or not and we have had no problems yet
  • Yes, it doesn't get warm and as long as there are no vents to block, you are safe.
