Rubber bands are made from the natural sap of rubber trees. The sap is collected from trees grown in western Africa, Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand. In addition to rubber bands, the sap creates rubber and latex that is mixed with other ingredients to make hoses, rubber molding and tires.Source:

The rubber band man......I remember a song about him......
They are wrapped around a rubber tree. The Band farmers cut the bottom few bands and the trees fall over. Other people come by with plastic bags and pull all the bands off of the tree and place them in the bags. The big bands at the bottom are used to wrap furniture with, the big branches they use to make bungee cords with. Farther up the tree are the ones you see at Office Max and Staples that everyone uses. Then when they get to the very top the new branch tips are the ones they give you when you have braces and you have to pull your teeth in to place (you know the ones that snap you in the cheek when you try to open up for the double CB)
The cut ones don't go to waste, they use them in the damn toy with the wooden paddle and the red rubber ball. You know the one that if you hit it once and miss the second time the ball hits you square in the forehead.
Oh yea - the leaves are ground up and put into chewing gum - and "OojoO" condoms cum from the ROOTS.
Hope that helps??????

Main material is "rubber", usually natural rubber, but some types of synthetic rubber are also used to obtain certain specific quality depending on the application. Besides, fillers such as calcium carbonate, carbon black, clay and additives like sulfur, stearic acid, zinc oxide, wax, oil, accelerators are mixed into rubber as ingredients.
