Why do people who have had a limb amputated still "sense" its presence?

    it's a a natural inhibition, you expect it to be there, for it always has been there...same goes for love... you love him/her, they have always been there, and you're so used to them being there and so in love with them, even if they are gone, you still love them...

  • your brain still think the limb is there so continues to send signals to the limb.

    Everything in the body that you think you feel at the site, is really felt in the brain, and even though there is no limb, there is still the spot on the cerebral cortex that senses that part of the body.
