    Asker's Pick

Selected by the asker, Halliburton Shill. (What's this?)

Because like Bush, they're all ignorant and crazy.

I wouldn't bet on Obama regaining world-wide trust. After all, he's not the same as Bush for nothing and it's just a matter of fact before others catch up to that. However, I do have to agree that the Repugs/Right Wing are the most putrid species their god could have ever created.

Because the rest of the world has been jealous of our great country and are glad at seeing it's possible demise or conversion to socialism/communism under a Leftist regime.

then we might be brought down to their level.

Lets see....the premise of the statements are all wrong and then the questioner asks... why? Why are Obowma's approval numbers declining?..why are the Demo's facing the largest defeat in history this coming November? Is it because of Republicans? No..it is not because of Republicans..it is because people have caught on to this power grabbing tax and spend leftist.
World-wide trust? Ask the Israelis how much they trust the Obowma administration. Even the Iranians have his number. This would be funny if it was not so pathetic.

Well, I think given it's because they are in opposition party, as a rule of thumb opposition party people are opposing everything done by governing party. It doesn't matter it is good or bad.

So I think given the Obama has done excellent job of getting economy in track, setting up healthcare and getting united states to a higher position in the world they still oppose because simply they are in opposition party.

I am not sure I agree that Obama's being in office is causing other countries to regain trust in the USA. Republicans are not trusted because they claim to be fiscally conservative and, yet, they spend just as much money as Democrats. Republicans nowadays are just socially conservative fiscally liberal hypocrites. The last person I want in office is someone who is going to try to constitutionally ban gay marriage, expand the scope of government, and give government handouts to large corporations that need to die at the same time.

If you'll read the actual story, it's not just republicans that people don't trust, it's government as a whole. Both parties have swayed so far to their poles that people just don't trust them anymore, and probably for good reason. According to the data, Democrats where at their lowest level of trust only a year ago.

As for other countries loving Obama... of course they do. Why wouldn't they? He's an American-hating socialist pig just like them! People all over the world from countries that HATE us were cheering in the streets when he was elected. What do you think that means? What do you take from it when an enemy of yours cheers for something you get. Do you stop and say "wow, that enemy of mine sure is happy for this great thing I'm getting", or do you say "WTF? Maybe this isn't as good as I had hoped".

Also you have to check the actual graph and the data. The world's opinion of the US wasn't continuously low then suddenly rebounded when Obama came into office. It was nearly as high as it is now in 2006, dropped in 2007 and has been steadily growing ever since then. That means the world's opinion of the US was high, then crashed, then started going up while Bush was still in office, not when Obama took over as the article (and you) suggests.

I don't agree that America is regaining world-wide trust, particularly, after the financial debacle. As to the Republicans, as Forest Gump would say "stupid is as stupid does." Nothing else that isn't ignorant and malicious seems to come out of that bunch.

I wouldn't say that the Republicans have the least trust of any political party. At least not in the United States. They have their fair share of supporters. If anything, I would say that the Democrats are trusted less simply because they have the power at the moment, and the Republicans seem like the underdog party fighting for freedom. Kind of like the IRA, except not as awesome. Of course, the Republican party can never be awesome, because their party is centered around Jesus and stealing money from black people to pay for male prostitutes.

Oh let me throw out an idea or two on this one.

Obama opens the US check book to the world... oh wait. Looks like half an idea covered all the bases.

I think you, and those who write such articles, are confusing "trust" with "to our advantage".

There is a significant difference when it comes to international politics. Republican, Democrat, or whatever, international politics are about political advantage for one's own country. Whatever political factions favor one's own nation are who is "trusted".
