My understanding is that the pes anserinus is just a name for the common attachment site of the Sartorius, Gracilis, semiTendinosus (mnemonic, Say Grace before Tea)... also the order is from medial to lateral The corresponding nerves for the muscles are FOS - femoral, obturator, sciatic, respectively. Hope that helps.

Im totally guessing... But since the human body is somewhat symmetric wouldent it be equal in size from one place to another, if say our legs and arms are the same length and out arm span matches our leg span etc... Im guessing based on that assumption that it is either the Thigh muscle and/or the Back muscle for the above mentioned reason? If they are not exactly the same size, they should be darn close? But I know little about human anatomy so...

The sartorius. It is a strap-like, narrow muscle which runs from the hip to the knee. It has its origin in upper part of ilium, the ear-shaped hip bone, and is inserted into the tibia, the broad, strong bone of the shank.
